Primary Programme
We offer two one-year School-Centered Training Programmes (SCITTs) for the Primary phase:
- Early-Years training programme (ages 3-7), in partnership with Teach First
- Primary training programme (ages 5-11), in partnership with Ambition Insitute
Both programmes run from September to August, with participants gaining their Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGCE) in July.
Through our school-centered programmes, you will spend the majority of your training year in one of our brilliant local partner schools. Here, you will observe excellent practice and pedagogy in action, embedding yourself into the school community. You will spend four days per week in school, and one day per week completing online and/or face-to-face training.
We will provide you will a strong support structure to guide you through your development:
- You will be assigned an in-school subject specialist mentor, alongside a Lead Mentor from North-West London Train to Teach
- You will receive short placements in a range of education settings, including a Primary school, SEND setting, and contrasting school
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is awarded through Teach First or Ambition Institute
- The Postgraduate Certificate in Education is awarded by Sheffield Hallam (Teach First), or Liverpool Hope (Ambition Insitute)
As a provider, we pride ourselves on the opportunities that we create for participants to network both within the cohort, and with other trainees in your local area and across London. We facilitate this through Conference Days, and meet and greets.
Our training is delivered across Brent, Barnet and Enfield.
